Some have been asking why I've had no updates on my site (for years). It's not like there wasn't anything happening; there was lots! But I admit I haven't been as up-to-date with my site as I should have been. So I hope this 'New' tab will serve better and hope to keep this updated with news, and thanks for your patience :)

January 19, 2024 "Charlie" originally started out as a project to sing to à la Karaoke track on special Indigenous-related ocassions... but grew to much more...
November 10, 2022 What started out as a 30 second acapella interlude from my 2018 'Look At Me' album, 'Dance Of Seduction' became a full length song with a fun lyric video and strong licensing potential. Check it out!
July 21, 2022 Let's face it. It's always fun to get a song out there in the public on any platform - Deezer, Tidal, and of course Spotify. And it's very, very cool when you land on Spotify's own coveted playlist of suggested music, Release Radar ...
July 1, 2022 Happy Canada Day, everyone! I'm pleased and excited to announce that all our single releases from now on will be handled through 'The Orchard'! For those who don't know...
May 24, 2022 Every music catalog streamlined to capture broad interest from music supervisors can always benefit from a re-recording of a classic from the past. I did this with She's Got You, In Walks The Night, and Still Got The Blues (For You). I couldn't help being excited by recording my own version of Dorothy Moore's classic hit of the 70's.
May 04, 2022 My good friend, the talented Lee Tokar of fame in the character voice world, is not only a talented voice actor with many IMDB credits to his name, he's also an extraordinary visual artist which itself, is a feat. Every piece of work he does is incredible but this one blows me away with what he's done... (Be sure to scroll all the way down to see the detail).
April 30, 2022 A bit of an update since my August release; my producer surprised me by producing a lyric video of my August 2021 recording. I wasn't expecting that, but the song's meaning had a lot of importance to me.
April 23 2022 Brother Tom Evans lives in Mexico - the land of perennial sunshine. 'Always a pleasure emailing, visits when he returns here, and the odd Zoom meeting. So we were totally surprised when he announced he was in a music video! (For those that don't know, he's the gringo with the Willie Nelson look... the pool shark :)
March 21 2022 Some of you know, as a part time pastime I do vocal coaching which always interweaves with many reasons to sing (whether it be simply to get better at it, build self-esteem, or whatever the reasons are). We've long known that singing has enormous health benefits; some older students I've helped over the years claimed it even helped with pain. In my quest for knowledge on the healthful aspects of singing, I came upon a course offer in the UK called Singing for Health and Trauma. In a nutshell ...
March 9, 2022 This is a project my co-writer (Ron) and I have been working on for some time now. Finally pleased to release Mucho Amor - a rework of my original released in English, Too Much Love (Is A Dangerous Thing). Translations are indeed harder than I first thought - working on a translation that would 'flow' and yet keep the original theme of the song. Several rewrites (and a few translators later), our Argentina friend Erisse offered a top-notch and beautiful vocal effort for which we're grateful. Gracias Erisse, por tu maravillosa participación!
March 02 2022 After spending the time, effort and a significant investment in music licensing courses, it was determined in my best interests to have my own dedicated site (and registered business name) and in January 2022 BC registry approved the name, and my site is now complete...
Jan 02, 2022 From time to time my co-writer and I get notices from various music libraries/publishers that are on the lookout for something specific. These notices called 'briefs' can be anything - looking for old 50's style rock & roll, to classical to... you name it. They're usually last minute calls to action, looking for something to submit to a TV show or film that might be a year off - but they need it 'now'. This is truly the art of 'writing-on-demand'. We won't hear anything until solidified; the key is whether they think it's good enough to submit. But this was one we wrote and produced for fun!
Any passing is sad - but some are more impactive than others, and such was the case with our friend Norm Andreassen who passed at Christmas in December 2021. Norm grew up in Burnaby, BC and studied broadcasting at BCIT, graduating to work in radio in Prince Rupert, Terrace, Edmonton, Grande Prairie, and in Brandon, Manitoba. Norm was a kind and considerate man and when you knew you were meeting with Norm, there would be good laughs ahead. I had the pleasure of working with Norm who interviewed me on my release of 'Look At Me', which you can hear on my Video / Media tab. We'll miss you, friend.
June 22, 2021 "Religion of Kindness" has always been a favorite motto of mine. My co-writer/producer Ron feels the same, so in an effort to distinguish our 'duo/duet' material, we formed 'Kindred Joy'. The connection is that this effort will solely be to fulfill our objectives of a 'Religion of Kindness'. This is a duo musical effort with a number of children involved, intent on recording uplifting, positive songs for these troubled times. Get Together (a remake of the Youngblood's peace anthem of the late 60's, was our first endeavour, but we have something new in the can. Kindred Joy's version of 'Get Together'
July 19, 2020 I've often had interest in how songs end up in movies/TV. That's a whole new world to those unaware - and admittedly, I was one - until taking some courses over the last two years by a few licensing gurus. Like everything I suppose, there's more than meets the eye...
July 5, 2020 A great part of my musical journey was the decade I spent with my sister Sal as 'The Evans Sisters'. We once had a website where we documented our gigs, had a little bio, and pics, so people could get to know us, learn a bit about our music. But the site and domain long ago expired and went into neglect when we shut down our show, and we thought it was forever lost.
May 04, 2020Meg Evans' new release... 'Too Much Love (Is a Dangerous Thing)'. This was an experiment in music styles, to see what we could derive out of one song. A fun project!
Sept. 01, 2019 Throughout our time working together, Ron (my producer/co-writer) and I developed an awesome background vocal sound. I've always been keen on background or backing vocals (BGs) and their importance to a song. It was refreshing to work with someone as keen.
Aug 3, 2019 After several months in production, the video from the title of my CD is released. "As an artist / songwriter, I have always tended to write about deep, often difficult issues that affect people and society. Homelessness is a very complicated issue with many faces. Realizing anyone's life can change in an instant, inspired me to write a song giving an inside look through the eyes of a homeless woman, sharing her challenging and often bleak world. Both privileged and homeless peoples realities may not be as far apart as they first seem."
July 24, 2019 Nearly two years in the making - not because we were lazy; we were simply methodical. But my album "Look At Me" is released. And that brought a whole new dimension to my musical Journey.
Sept. 01, 2018 Before releasing my 2019 CD "Look At Me", my producer Ron and I decided that it needed one more song added before its completion. After putting our creative thinking caps on, we came up with this fun, quirky, energetic love song, which was exactly what "Look At Me" needed.
June 07, 2018 This was a milestone for my co-writer and me. We were working/developing a young lad's entrance into recording and felt he needed an original. Though we did initially record him, we since worked more on the song and re-recorded it with my own vocal using some tech tricks so I'd suit the song better - but the exercise of writing together left us impressed with the ease in which we both contributed! And in a way, this song was the birth of our co-writing catalogue.
Sept 22, 2017 Though The Evans Sisters haven't performed together since 2010, this summer of 2017 Meg's producer, Ron, asked them what song they wished they had recorded if they could again. Both unanimously said "Wings of a Nightingale" by the Everly Brothers.
